What started as a simple nudge to explore more has grown into something that keeps me grounded, curious, and constantly looking for beauty in the everyday. I’m based in Chickamauga, Georgia, in the northwest corner of the state, where mountain views and quiet backroads are just part of life. Being so close to Tennessee, Alabama, and North Carolina means there’s always a new trail to hike, waterfall to chase, or peaceful spot to slow down and breathe.

Although I’m definitely an outdoor enthusiast, my favorite adventures also include discovering small-town charm — the kind of places with front porches, friendly faces, and stories waiting to be told. I love getting to know locals, trying new coffee shops and hometown restaurants, and wandering into those unexpected “Hallmark movie” moments you only find in Southern towns.

Through The Scenic South, I try to curate what it feels like to experience the South — not just the views, but the pace, the people, the warmth, and the wonder.

This site is home to photo galleries from my travels, a constantly growing bucket list, and stories that I hope encourage you to get off your screen and get outdoors. Whether you’re planning your next road trip or just looking for a little inspiration, I hope this space reminds you to slow down and see what’s around you.

In my day-to-day life, I work in suicide prevention, and I’m a follower of Jesus — my faith deeply shapes how I see the world and why I care so much about helping others feel more connected, more seen, and more alive.

Thanks for being here. I hope you find something that makes you want to get out there and explore The Scenic South.

Hi, I’m Collin —

— the person behind The Scenic South, which began in March 2025 as a personal challenge to experience Southern travel, one scenic stop at a time.
